Booth Brothers in the Finale

May 30, 2009 16:38

I was just re-watching the finale (for the sixth or seventh time) and I noticed something I hadn't noticed before (or seen anyone mention): ( cut for spoilers )

characters: jared booth, characters: seeley booth, eps: 4x26 - the end in the beginning

It's because Jared Booth was supposed to be like 'Booth'. The guy who did anything for his family, he was a FBI agent too (Which he is not in non AU) and he also dressed like Booth does (Minus the skinny tie).

It's possible that Max was not Brennan's father in it.

The only thing that bugged me was the names. If it really was Brennan's book why would she use names so close to him, I don't think it was a book she was writing. I think what she wrote was the things Hodgin's said and the entire AU was just in Booth's head.

I think its a combination. It's not just Brennan's book, it's Booth's mind. I don't think it's one or the other. Hart said, 'It's a meeting of the minds'. That's just me.

I totally agree. I think Brennan's book as the Hodgins voiceover, and most of the AU was Booth's dream. The only thing I don't know yet is exactly jow she realized she loved him. Is it just the fact that he got sick and had a life threatening tumor or did she have part in the Au too. Now that I think about it she must have because the two clocks in the sex scene clearly indicate that one was Booth's dream and the other Brennan's in Brennan's mind. The only thing I'm iffy about is the fact that HH is making us believe that this is the first time Booth's going to realize he loves her , and that it's the first time he's thought about them having sex. We all know that's not true at all , so I don't get why he do that. Plus in his twitter he said that Marisa Coughlan ( Perotta ) would likely be back , which sucks because we all know which way that's heading... Bring on the Booth/Perotta obligatory rebound relationship when he wants to take things further with Brennan and she declines. I really hope HH brings back some of the wonder of ( ... )

Just regarding who's mind it really is, shadow1789 had (IMO) the right idea:

"HERE'S WHAT I THINK, AND I THINK I NAILED IT. :D
(tho feel free to call me a n00b if it's too utterly lame)

Opening scene, clock reads 4:47, Hodgins is chatting up as the narrator:
BRENNAN'S POV. HER WRITING.

Fade to white, open on them in bed, clock reads 0543 (MILITARY TIME):
BOOTH'S POV. (Brennan still doing some writing tho)

After Motley plays, fade to white again, Baby Confession, more epic narrating:
Back to BRENNAN'S POV again. How the narrating even fades into her own voice then.

Fade to white, real world."

The rest is at http://shadow71689.livejournal.com/44657.html#cutid1

Yeah, that's what I've been thinking too. It would explain why the second clock was in military time - I had just been trying to figure out if there were any more 'hints' as to when it changed from Booth to Brennan's POV.

I noticed that the regular thunk of the knock on the door sounds a bit like a heartbeat, or something like that, that would be heard in a hospital...or maybe I'm just reaching...

I was rewatching earlier episodes and only just realised that the initial voiceover is what Booth said to Brennan at the end of the horse fetish episode.

The very first voice over? I just went back and watched "Death in the Saddle" and didn't hear that..
