Well, I’m Canadian, so thanksgiving is already long gone. Onto Christmas! This story doesn’t actually have a Christmas in it, but it is about the weeks leading up to it.
Hehe gotta love the art, esp the clothes one, the first one! Hehehehehehehehehehehe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I never read this; when did she split up with James to get with Ken doll? Poor Liv, whilst she was wasting time angsting over her future, little did she know she wouldn't have one! Til SVU, anyway. Heh!
I also love love love your drawings :) Heh, Olivia wears stupid clothes. Seriously, who would wear a record as a scrunchie? I know it's meant to be all boho, and I'm not hating on originality, but it just sounds like osmething absolutely no one would do.
Even when she sees his dump, he still makes her feel like she’s falling for him. It’s the bad boy thing. Haha. I guess in Sweet Valley, a bad boy is a guy who paints and lives in a furnitureless apartment filled with soup cans. Bad to the bone.
What kind of crazy teenager thinks about finance all the time and has a colour-coded college choosing system? A crazy one, that kind!
She should really focus on Robert, because he’s the type of guy who will keep her financially secure. Jeez Olivia is a nitwit. She's 16! What are the chances she'd stay with a boyfriend at that age long enough to think about him keeping her financially secure?
Well, when I first got with Rick I thought...hmm...nice car, good job, colour coded wardrobe, oh yes, he's going to keep me financially secure! Heh, yep, course I did :-p
Oh! This must be the guy who broke up with Olivia because he was moving to Paris to work on his painting. Hee.
I don’t know if there are any art fans in the crowd who can prove this wrong, but even though Olivia says that it’s basically paintings of emotions, apparently it’s something so far-fetched and off-the-wall that only true artists like Olivia can appreciate it.
Olivia is so cute. Abstract Expressionism is about flatness, paint, and form. It's self-referential painting. That is, painting freed from subject and figure: not paintings of horses or fruit or people, just painting as painting, broken down to its most fundamental elements: paint and canvas. It should be solely concerned with color and line. It's tied up with all this Cold War stuff about America vs. Communism, and freedom (abstraction) vs. tyranny (painters having to actually paint figures instead of just painting). Also, it's a movement from the 50s. Way to be on the cutting edge, Olivia.
That said, this was an amazing recap! I can't believe you made
"Emily is checking out colleges in the area." Hehe, how many colleges does Sweet Valley have? Given that it's a small town, you'd think that they wouldn't even need one, let alone half a dozen in the first place. And heck, we ALL know that SVU is THE only college worth enrolling in anyway...
Actually, I guess I could have specified. It says that Emily drives all over California to check places out. She's just using Sweet Valley as her home base. But yeah, she does say at the end that she wants to be as close to Sweet Valley as possible.
