In the spirit of the season, I decided that it would be awesome to recap the third season Christmas episode. Yeah…..

Possibly the worst Christmas episode ever produced..... )

party!, tv show recap, the dreaded shred, recapper: iheartbusterk, saint elizabeth of sweet valley, tv show, some people never learn, holidays, non-book recap, i declare shenanigans

... it seems like they just shoehorned the Christmas Carol plot in because everyone else was doing it. Not a good plan!

Enid as the Ghost of Christmas Future
Now that is scary.

Lila would never just have cats. At the worst, she'd just buy a husband.

Yeah, I think that the SVH TV writers had no idea how awesome Lila actually was.

Agreed...although the one in this episode was slightly better than the old Lila of the first two seasons, who was basically Caroline Pearce with a Rolex.

This episode brings back so many memories! I remember it was on at 4:30 in the morning, and I got up to watch it and taped it! The thing that's stuck with me all these years is Lila and Jess and their awesome feathery bathrobes, which I wanted SO BADLY. Also, Lila yelling at the Ghost of Christmas Enid about her great uncle Elmo in Kalamazoo. The things we remember, honestly!

When I was a young child, I used to think that walking through a mall carrying enough bags that you kept knocking into people was the epitome of cool.
Me too; I call it the Clueless effect. It doesn't work if you don't knock into people, though. It's the 'get out of my way, peasant, I'm shopping hardcore' factor.

I'd add Pretty Woman effect - Julia Roberts tellling the salesgirl "Big mistake. I have shopping to do." It seems so cool, until you consider that none of us really want to be a hooker in need of rescuing.

To someone who's never seen snow, snow is BAMF ndpndntfilm December 19 2010, 00:51:33 UTC
I have to defend Manny and Enid (gag me) here about snow. I grew up in East Texas where snow didn't fall and I thought snow was just about the coolest thing since Lila Fowler and then we went to Utah to visit my sister's godparents and they had snow and I was deliriously happy.

Then it started snowing around here on a regular basis so it's lost its magic but yeah, I get what Enid (ugh) and Manny are going on about.
