SVT #66- The Great Boyfriend Switch

Jul 23, 2008 12:54

The switch? It's not that great...

Okay, the only people that I know are Jessica and Elizabeth. I think the one in that ugly green dress is Amy. Maybe it's Veronica... Correct me if I'm wrong. (I know I am...) The part in her hair is huge. I think Lila is above Amy and that Janet is who Lila is practically hanging on. I don't know the other three. The other blond reminds me of someone I go to school with. And Jessica is the only one who is wearing purple.

We open with Jessica with Elizabeth and Amy talking about the first dance. The wonders of decorations, DJs from LA! I don't remember all that at my middle school dances! Then they see Aaron Dallas shoving Peter DeHaven in a locker, then Aaron and Ken Matthews tying Peter's laces together, the girls just can't believe that's what they have to put up with at the dance...

Then we get an introduction to Veronica Brooks who now I think is the girl in the God ugly green dress. Then we learn that Elizabeth got a 98 on the math test that previous day. And, boo-hoo, Veronica got a 97. Then we learn that Veronica is a competitive person. And that at her school, the guys are sophisticated and don't shove people in lockers. Then Veronica wishes she stayed at her old school. Then why is she here? Then Todd asks Liz to the dance. How nervous is he? This nervous.

"Listen," Todd muttered, looking around nervously, "I, uh, was wondering..." He started scuffing his sneaker against the bottom of the locker. "Uh, you know, talking about this dance and everything, um, well, I was wondering if you wanted to go with me. You know, be my date?"

Took him long enough? She just has to rush and tell Amy and Veronica hears and is super jealous of Liz. And it seems like, to Amy, that she and Veronica feel left out. Ken walks toward them, Amy knows he's going to ask her to the dance. He wants to borrow Amy's math book. Though he asks her like Todd was talking with all the um's.

The Unicorns are having a special meeting, open to non-Unicorns. I thought I had read it wrong. They're gonna talk about the dance and Amy and Liz decide to go. The meeting starts off with Janet asking if she should get a haircut. They finally decide that Janet will get a haircut. Belinda Layton is wearing heels. Janet then starts telling the girls what to wear and tells Tamara Chase that she has green skin and has been abducted by aliens. When Janet is taking date roll, she gets to Amy and she says she has no date.

The next day, Liz thinks she's spotted Amy until she sees her purple and blue eyelids and eyeliner. Amy wants Ken to notice her so, the Unicorns take her seriously. He's gonna notice her... and run away. Then Ken comes over to them and thinks Amy has been given two black eyes, asking if it hurt. He really does.

"Does it hurt much?" Ken asked, his face concerned.
"No," Amy said through clenched teeth.
Ken gave Amy a sympathetic pat on the shoulder. "I know it's hard to do, but next time just walk away. Fighting never solves anything." He gave Amy's arm a friendly squeeze and headed down the hall.

I wonder if Ken ever has said that to Todd.

Liz gets top score for essays in English, Veronica gets second. Veronica's mad. After class, Amy wants to magically get rid of her black eyes and she and Liz bump into Veronica on their way to the restroom. Liz has stepped in front of Veronica and she's all, "You just have to be first in everything don't you?" Then Amy and Liz go to a different bathroom and we learn that Veronica likes Todd. Then Ken comes up to Amy and asks her to the dance, to hang out. Not a date, hang out.

Jessica has most of the Unicorns over at Casa Wakefield to get ready for the dance. Liz has Amy and Melissa over too. Casa Wakefield seems as if an earthquake occurred. Lila and Kimberly come into Liz's room and decide Amy should wear some makeup and heels to the dance. Amy settles for a scarf. The girls hear someone tell them to evacuate downstairs. It's Ned. He just wants to tell the girls upstairs looks like a mess. Turned over chairs, hair clips and makeup screwed all over the floor, curling irons plugged in every outlet and mirrors that were given makeovers. I can see why Ned did that. The girls get their picture taken and the dates start to appear. When Aaron and Todd arrive, Jess needs to grab her purse, so Todd decides to give Liz a present, a gold heart-shaped locket with both of their pictures in them! (Psst! That's important later!) Aw. Jessica appears and they leave for the dance.

Jess is at the punch table eying Bruce Patman, vice versa, while Aaron is making a request to the DJ. Bruce walks over to Jess to dance the rest of the night. Todd, Liz and Aaron hang out at the refreshment table watching Jessica dance with Bruce. Veronica comes over and says that at her old school, they had cappuccinos with ice cream at their dances. Wow. I bet most parents of twelve year-olds won't even let them have coffee. Veronica whisks Todd away to dance for the rest of the night. Aaron has had enough of Jessica and Bruce, so he decides to cut in on them. As he's walking, Jess and Bruce kiss and Aaron just stalks to outside of the gym and Liz follows him and they pretend to be each others' dates for the last dance. While they're dancing, Aaron kisses Elizabeth and guess who's watching? Caroline Pearce, and we all know what's going to happen. Then, the dance is over.

We cut to Monday with Liz and everyone is whispering and staring. She gets to her locker and Sarah Thomas and Sophia Rizzo are waiting at her locker. They heard about Elizabeth and Aaron, though they weren't at the dance. Liz starts rejecting it and Jessica and Aaron are shouting on the top of their lungs at each other, right in the hallway. Where are the teachers?

We cut to Liz and Todd, he's asking her about if she really kissed Aaron.. She says yes and says she wouldn't have if he didn't run off with Veronica. He was just trying to be nice. They keep fighting and stuff, but we get some last words from Todd.

Todd glared at her through narrowed eyes for a moment. "Girls!" he said in disgust. Then he turned and marched away.

That makes me laugh so hard.

Elizabeth stomps into social studies. Oh noes! Jess is in the same class! Back to everyone staring and glaring at Liz. Liz has to sit next to Jess and she starts asking about Aaron. They argue. Everyone is mad at everyone. Wow.

At lunch Liz sits at a table by herself and Aaron joins her. Liz keeps throwing dirty faces at Jessica. Aaron and Liz are talking about how nobody should be mad blah, blah, blah. Aaron changes the topic to the art teacher, Mr. Sweeney. Liz is confused on how Aaron can have a changeable personality. Todd walks by their table and sits down with Veronica at a different table. They resume to their conversation about Mr. Sweeney and they are laughing like hyenas. Amy walks by and is all, "What's so funny?" and Elizabeth is all, "Nothing!"

We are at the front of the school with the Unicorns with Jessica waiting for Bruce to go to Casey's. On the way there, all Bruce is doing being an airhead and bragging about how he's the funniest guy in the seventh grade and thinking he looks like Johnny Buck and he won't even let Jess talk. I feel bad for her. Bruce makes a dumb joke at Casey's. After they ordered, Aaron and Liz walk in and decide to stay since Jessica and Bruce are there. Aaron and Liz sit down and they hold hands across the table. Caroline is there are she sees Todd and Veronica walk in. Jessica laughs to herself and Bruce is like, "What are you laughing at, I didn't say anything?"

We cut to later with Jess on the sofa reading a magazine, Liz on the floor studying and Ned and Alice reading the paper. The phone rings, and no one races to it. Ned reminds them it's ringing. Everyone stays still. Ned finally gets up and answers the phone. It's Aaron, but who does he want to talk to? Liz, of course! They ask how they are and they both can't think of anything to talk about. Liz finally asks what he did after they left Casey's. "Not much," Then they hang up on each other. Wow. Elizabeth wonders that Aaron is so talkative in person, but doesn't have much to say on the phone. Liz goes back to studying and the phone rings again! Steven picks it up and it's Bruce, wanting Jessica. Liz bursts, saying she's not Jessica's keeper and bursts into tears in her bedroom.

We cut to the Unicorner and all they are talking about is their guys. Jake Hamilton has called Lila every night since the dance, Peter Jeffries put a rose on Mandy's desk, etc. Jess has had enough of it because Bruce does call her every night... but he, and only he, talks. She gets up and Veronica corners her. They decide to get even with Elizabeth. By they I mean Veronica.

After school, Veronica and Jessica go to Casa Wakefield while Liz is at Amy's. They go to Liz's room and Veronica, being a get even bitch, takes Liz's math homework and changes "some" of the answers. Veronica wants to go to level 2 and read some of Liz's diary, but Jess won't let her. Before Veronica leaves, since it can't be her way, she takes something off of Liz's night table! Oh noes! What did she take? Lila calls and tells Jess that Ellen is having a Valentine's party at her house.

The next day, Tuesday, at math class Veronica gets highest score on the homework and Elizabeth cannot believe her score. She got an F. Ms. Wyler wants to see her after class. Ms. Wyler thinks that Liz rushed through her work to quickly. The Unicorns at lunch discuss this. They're shocked as well as Liz is. Also, Amy is getting another makeover from Lila and Kimberly.

Amy. Looks. Like. A. Hippie. Lila saw Ken and Peter DeHaven in a music shop and they were looking at a hippie CD and they liked the girl on the cover, so Lila dressed Amy up the way the girl on the cover did. All I know is that Amy has an eyeliner peace sign on her cheek and a vest and that Lila's housekeeper is gonna iron Amy's hair. They all go to the drugstore, hoping Ken will be there... he's there. He thinks she is making fun of Valentine's Day by celebrating Halloween. Ha ha. He walks away but he comes back and asks Amy to the party.

This time, it's just the twins getting ready for Ellen's party. Everyone is getting ready at their own house. Liz is waiting for Jess to get her outfit on so she can pull a twin switch at the party, but Jess is waiting for Liz to get her outfit on so she can pull a twin switch at the party, so the girls are walking around spying on each other in their underwear, waiting for each other to get dressed. Liz looks for her locket from Todd, but she can't find it. Where could it have gone?! After a good twenty minutes, they finally get dressed.

We cut to the party with Ken and Amy. There are heart-shaped balloons, cards, ice cubes, cupcakes, cookies and even heart-shaped lanterns around the pool. Ken's all, "The lanterns are a fire hazard. They could catch the water on fire."
*headdesk*
Todd and Veronica walk over to Ken and Amy and Amy notices that Veronica is wearing a locket just like the one Liz lost! *gasp* ( ;) Amy doesn't know that Liz lost it yet.) Amy gets all pissed at Todd and runs away, Ken doesn't have a clue why she's mad, they argue about how dumb Ken is and the water can't catch on fire. And I love this line because it is totally true!

Amy's mouth dropped open. Her eyes bulged. Ken Matthews was a total nincompoop!

Liz and Jess finally show up and Ellen bitches them out because they're late. Aaron whisks Liz away and Jess meets up with Bruce. He makes a big deal out of his hair.

"So what do you think?" [Bruce] asked with an expectant grin.
"What do I think about what?" Jessica asked.
"Don't you notice anything different?" Bruce asked her in disbelief,
"I don't think so," Jessica replied.
Bruce looked annoyed. "Come on, Jessica. Think! Pay attention!"
Jessica shrugged. She didn't have the slightest idea what he was talking about.
"My hair!" Bruce cried, pointing to his head with both forefingers. "My hair! It's parted on the left. I usually part it on the right. How could you not notice? I mean, it's so obvious. It makes a big difference in the way I look."

*headdesk*

Veronica walks by and notices Bruce's hair and thinks he looks like Johnny Buck. Jessica walks away and changes into a pink sweater and puts her hair into a ponytail and walks to Todd, as Elizabeth. Liz walks away from Aaron and puts on a blue blouse and lets her hair tumble over her hair. Heh? She walks to Aaron, as Jessica. LizJess is with Todd, when he sees her, he chokes on the heart-shaped mint he was eating. I must be quote crazy because I'm going to type up another one, in this book the guys are stupider than stupid!

"Sure," Todd said, doing his best to look cool and unconcerned. He leaned back casually against the wall, but it was farther away than he realized.
"Whoa!" he cried as he began to fall.
Quick as lightning, Jessica reached out and caught Todd by the lapels of his shirt. "Watch it," she said, briskly hoisting him to his feet.

LizJess can't think of anything to talk about with Todd so she asks him if he read any good books lately and he takes ten minutes of her life to explain this one book.

JessLiz is with Aaron, and Aaron's still mad at Jessica. They make up.

We go back to Todd talking about that good ol' book! They almost make up when Veronica comes over and wants Todd back. Amy sees LizJess, buying it's Liz, and she tells her that Todd just gives out lockets to his dates. Jess remembers that Liz lost a locket earlier when they were getting ready and when Veronica was over at Casa Wakefield, she slipped something in her pocket before she left. LizJess stomps back over to Veronica and is furious about the locket. Veronica pushes LizJess from the patio into the living room, and cutting us off of the chapter.

We cut back to Aaron and JessLiz when they here a huge thud from the living room. It's LizJess from the VeronicaPush. Aaron and JessLiz make up and LizJess make up too and they're about to kiss when the twins need to switch back to normal. Veronica hooks up with Bruce. Veronica swears for revenge.

There was no pool pushes. No cookie for ghostwriter. =(
