Things I did today that weren't related to studying Japanese

May 04, 2008 23:09

In between writing my mammoth study guide for my exam tomorrow, I took a few breaks (because let's be honest, if you don't take breaks, things get hellish). Here is how I spent said breaks:

Break 1: Listened to the Red Sox on the radio and followed along with the Center Field game thread. Worked on study guide throughout most of that, but took ( Read more... )

life: procrastination, slumberwood college baseball, baseball, college baseball: stanford, baseball: sam fuld

But you'll be in college soon! It's a lot of work, but it can be fun (especially if you get a roommate who respects your living space!).

Exams, however, suck.

haha I think this part about getting into college sucks even more.

SATs! ACTs! GPAs! Extracurriculars! AHHHHHH.

Actually, I think the worst part of getting in was the 'writing the application twenty million times' part. The SATs aren't bad at all - none of the math goes above ninth grade, and the English section's nothing! You'll be fine there...(Of course, if you get stuck in a Kaplan class, like I did, you kind of lose half your week to it. I was up so late doing homework the nights I had those classes...)

If you can go early decision and avoid writing the application a gajillion times, then do it! (I did that, and I'm quite happy with where I am now...)

Sigh. Sam Fuld is amazing and I love him.

...but I'm starting to hate Shakespeare. And tri-fold poster boards.

He really, truly is - he's so wonderful! You have lovely taste.

I'm starting to greatly dislike Japanese myself. It's a fun language, but...enough is enough. That study guide came to about seven pages. Geez...

I do believe I see a pattern evolving here--I mean, Sam's a young, good-looking, hard-working, left-handed center fielder on a playoff-contending team (who went to a Pac-10 school). Hm. Who does this remind me of?

Seven pages? Funn. I'm now coloring in the background of this poster to look like a stage curtain. It's looking terrible but I DON'T CARE.

Hmmm, that sounds very, very familiar...I believe you've got yourself a 'type' there! (Then again, I do, too - Jed possesses pretty much every quality I've ever found attractive. Ever.)

There's material that's not even on this thing - I have characters to go over, too. Ugh. (And as long as you get it done, I don't think they care how artistic your poster is - it's the actual presentation that matters...)

Hooray for Monday morning exams. =.=;;;;;;;;

Oh, roommates. Last year my roommate made a few good friends on our floor and they'd all come in and it was awkward because I'd sit there. And then have to eat with them. I eventually took to eating by myself for time and ease. Life was better when she left and I could play Lego Star Wars at 2am. But yes, next year is approaching!

Oh, no, really! I'm so...not excited. At least it's only supposed to be about an hour long...

It's hard, because I never really felt I fit in with this group, and somehow I don't feel respected. It takes everything I have not to snap sometimes...I've been trying to study in here, and people keep coming in and out! And whenever somebody comes to the door, it's never for me...I've taken to greeting people with, "Hi! She's not here...I'll tell her you were looking for her." (I don't use those exact words, but...yeah.)

Ours will be 100 questions--true/false, fill ins, and MC. I know this. I do not like it. Though it's better than an essay.

I know exactly how that feels. Last year I think the one time I talked at a meal was when I said something about the Mets. Once. In...four months. And the door thing...sometimes people would want to borrow my books (nice people), so they'd look for me. And people wanting us to sign meals away, those were popular. Sophomore year is so much better.

Mine's going to be a lot of writing...why, oh, why can't language tests ever be multiple choice? Waaaaah. (I'd take objective questions over an essay any day of the week!)

I almost never say anything at dinner anymore - these people generally wouldn't talk about anime or military history...or even baseball. I am the only baseball fan out of all of them. (That depresses me like all hell.) And I can't even count how many meals I've signed away this year...doing random surveys is annoying, too.
