Ignoring her, Jamie shrugged on his coat, not sure exactly where he was going but needing to get out of this damn office.

"You don't know that," he spat, arms falling to his sides helplessly. "They could be...something could go wrong..."

She stood up slowly, sure that she could catch up with him, should there be any need. "Something can always go wrong." And that's not something I need to be thinking of right now.

She gritted her teeth. "But if I can stay here and wait for them, then so can you." Selfishly, she wanted to point out she had more to lose, she had more of a chance to lose Jimmy, but she didn't. Arguing with Jamie would make working with him complicated and she didn't have the luxury of slipping in between the sheets with him later to make it all better.

Jamie grit his teeth, crossing his arms over his chest defensively. "Can we...can we just go somewhere else? I hate sitting in this place."

Maybe once he could clear his head, focus on something else besides a phone he couldn't answer, he'd be able to breathe. Be able to think of something except Kirin covered in blood.

She echoed his feelings, but she wasn't about to tell him that.

"We've got work to do," she sighed, grabbing the file on her desk with one hand and her coat with the other. It was too fucking cold for a New York summer.

Biting back a sigh, Jamie nodded, following her out the door. Well, at least that was something. He'd rather've taken a walk, or hell, got a decent night's sleep, but work served just the same purpose. It got his mind off of it.

"What it is now?"
