"Are you sure you're okay?"
Charlie shot the older woman a cross look.
"Yes! I'm fine! I just didn't get much sleep last night," she finally confessed. "But I'll be fine."
Lack of sleep was only one of Charlie's worries.
Hiro had disappeared and Charlie was beginning to think she was going crazy.
She'd ducked back into the mansion and the manager had not been pleased at seeing her a second time. Or with her questions.
Understatement.
"Maybe you should go home early," Lynette suggested.
Charlie considered the idea and shook her head, "No... I'm fine."
Working distracted her from her worries.

She seemed like a totally different person, and Hiro felt bad. It was possible that his being upset about the situation with the mansion had rubbed off on her, so he began to prepare his apology in his head.
Charlie, I sorry I get so sad at mansion...
Charlie, I very confused, but thank...
I sorry I doze off in car, Charlie...
Hiro gave up for now. He would wait until things calmed down around the diner, and for Charlie to notice him. Being small, unnoticed, and quiet was his specialty.

"If we get anymore customers today, I might scream," Charlie confessed to Lynette, who watched her with the same concern from before.
"Well, you just got another. At the door. He looks... Well, I would've said something sooner, but..."
Charlie nodded, resigned to work the rest of the day off. She picked up a menu and turned around, only to freeze, staring at Hiro.
"Hiro?" she asked, uncertainly, taking a step forwards.

He tried to remain with a little bit of a smile before looking deeply into Charlie's eyes, "What wrong?"

"Hi," she said. She frowned, staring at him, noticing he was in the same clothes as yesterday.
"You've been gone... Are you alright?"
He looked okay, but...
"I've been really worried!"
