"So we're cool now?" Billy questioned his boyfriend hopefully. He was at Teddy's family's bakery, helping out like he usually did a couple of times a week. They were in the kitchen right now, wearing aprons over the uniform t-shirt of the store. Billy was leaned against one of the kitchen's many ovens, waiting for the croissants he'd thrown in to finish. He felt bad that day in Central Park, leaving Teddy there wihtout an explanation. She blinked in suprise when she realized just who was standing across the counter from, her, before shaking her head slightly, and smirking.

He worked in a bakery?

Billy looked at her expression and groaned internally. He soooo didn't want to see her right now, especially since his boyfirend was in the other room. He gritted his teeth and smiled as warmly as he could. Nothing he could do now.

"Our special today are glazed fritters, ma'am."

"Don't you have anything more filling than that?"

She wasn't particularly interested in another tutoring episode--or in people bursting through the door to grab him while she was there--but she was still hungry, and at least he wouldn't be boring.

"We also have eclaires, donuts, croissants, danishes, and disbelief, ma'am," he told her. He smacked himself mentally on the last comment. Disbelief? Way to be smooth, Kaplan. He didn't even mean to say it. It just sorta slipped out.
