WISCONSIN: A two part love/hate letter.

Things I will miss in Wisconsin

--My parents
--My cats
--My friends
--Knowing my way around
--Good cheese
--Real butter on every table
--Cheap prices
--Saying "Ja!" and sounding normal
--Kringle
--Being able to call up my therapist to restart therapy if I break down again

Things I won't miss in Wisconsin

--The cocksuckers I went to school with
--E
--Packer fans
--Cheesehead hats
--Deer
--Snow
--The scene of my rapes
--Old bosses
--All the people who say, "Cold enough for ya?"
--Tax clients
--Driving behind tractors
--Farmers' brats
--All the damn Scandinavians and their xenophobia
--Lack of diversity
--My brother, the fucking rapist
--The mess in the apartment because E is lazy even when unemployed and I'm working over 40 hours a week and going to school full-time and supporting his ass
--Lack of stores carrying decent art supplies
--Supercold and superhot weather
--All the cheese paraphenalia
--Wannabe white gangstas (YOU'RE IN FUCKING WISCONSIN, JESUS)
--That one blonde woman at the post office who tries her best to ruin everyone else's day and be difficult
--New colors for (fall/winter/spring/summer): plaid, plaid, or plaid. I like plaid, but I'm not a lumberjack, dammit.
--People from Illinois who are snobby towards Wisconsinites (it counts when they're in Wisconsin, okay?)
--My dad not understanding why I don't want to ever see my brother again and why did I have a panic attack when my brother started following me in Kenosha one day? DUH
--Kenosha: affectionately(?) known as Kenowhere
--Lack of any culture. I LIKE museums and art institutes and the theater, but Chicago is a bitch to drive in.
--Pridefest. Throw a rainbow flag up instead of a green one and that's the only difference between gay pride and Irish pride. Oh, and one PFLAG booth and the protesters outside the gates.
--No ocean. I really want to be by the ocean. I always have, even if not right next to the ocean. Lake Michigan is horribly polluted and smelly with all the dead fish that wash up.
--The friends I've lost over the years.
