Last night one of my old friends had a birthday party - it was a "Swango Dance Party" and there were some very impressive dancers. I met up with more old friends, mostly from high school, and met some new people. I may need to check out the dance scene here - not club dancing, but social dancing. She's gorgeous, she ginormous, she stinks!  It's Lois! The Houston Museum of Natural Science's corpse flower is blooming now and the museum is open extended hours (24 hours sometimes) for the event. So yesterday I went to a luncheon for corporate and non-profit supporters of a local public radio station (the office lotto for tickets fell to me this time), and the result was that I got to hear a great speech, see a funny magic show, and meet Carl Kasell.  He is a lovely man.
