Top 5 Characters, any fandom

Continuing the Top 5 Meme:
Well, if this were a list of characters in any ONE fandom, I would be listing from Babylon 5, because that show has a lot of favorites.  Just so you know.  ;)  Also, this is one of those lists that may change at any moment, for random reasons. I remember great characters all the time, and my obsessions change with fandoms. In fact, I could rewrite it right now... but I won't.  It's stuck for now.
I think it would take a lot to knock G'kar off the top slot, though, I'm just sayin'. I'm going to include 5 runners-up, just because I can.

So, Top 5 Favorite Characters (wow, this is really hard):
1. Ambassador G'kar (Babylon 5) He has a brilliant dramatic arc through the show. I loved him as a crazy politician and as a spiritual leader.  His transformation is one of my favorite parts of the show, and his relationship with Londo is the BEST SHIP EVAR.  :D

2. Commander Susan Ivanova (Babylon 5) She's smart, she's brave, she takes no guff from anybody. I enjoyed the fact that the writers allowed us to see many facets of this woman, and she really held a great role. She was complicated, and admirable, and had some of the best lines in the show.  My favorite, "I'll be in the car."  (It's all about context.)

3. Sokka (Avatar: the Last Airbender) How much do I love Sokka?  SO MUCH. He's the regular guy, the non-bender who holds his own in a group of powerful allies, the once-sexist kid who learns valuable lessons about the power of girls, and he's the leader of the group. He's the glue that holds everything together, even if he doesn't really know it. He's silly and charming. He stumbles and gets right back up again. He has a boomerang! Oh, Sokka, I love you.

4. Arthur Pendragon (as played by Bradley James in Merlin) - fans of the show might think this was a hard choice, but while I love Colin Morgan's performance, Merlin the character is not very admirable.  Arthur, on the other hand, is shown to have some moral growth. He's at times a prat, yes, but when it comes down to the wire he usually chooses to act on behalf of his people. When he does something wrong he shows remorse, and learns small lessons (large lessons are mostly precluded by the reset-button format, at least so far).

5. Neroon (Babylon 5) - another character whose growth and depth really pushed limits and transformed events in the show.  I loved him so much as an antagonist, and then as a reluctant ally.  He was a passionate, selfless actor in the fate of his people. Also, beautiful voice. Wow.

Runners-up:
1. Vir Cotto  (Babylon 5) - *does a little wave*   He's really in a three-way tie with Londo and Lennier.  It's so hard to choose! They're all so brilliant!

2. Emperor Palpatine (Star Wars)  What can I say? Evil is sexy.

3. Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter) Part of the reason I love her is probably because she's such a mystery. But she's a good friend.

4. Edmund Pevensie (in the books and as played in the films by Skandar Keynes) I actually really love him best in The Horse and His Boy, but the movies have provided me with new love for him.

5. Marcus Didius Falco (Falco Mysteries, book series by Lindsey Davis) My favorite wise-cracking, crime-fighting fictional Roman!

I'm kind of disappointed in myself that so few of these are women. And hey, lots of them are from Babylon 5 anyway. It's just that good.
