Deep nights, long talks.

Discovery, at its quietest, is the most candid, and the most tender. I like that -- not peeling the layers off, but letting them fall away. If you wait long enough the flower will open itself to you. Patience, and the soft rain of silence. Listening. The lights were dim, and it looked like a setting sun.

A good day: after a long drought of uncertainty, knowing (at last, for once) assurance.

The path ahead fills with light, and here is my first step -- after months of inertia -- forward.

And thus, life goes on. Survival comes to those who don't give a shit. One thing I've learnt this year: life isn't a coin toss. We are suspended in midair, hovering in a thousand states, years away from landing.

We'll hit the ground when we do. Heads or tails doesn't say much -- it's our call that matters.

Two weeks in America -- been hanging out with my sister and her miniature zoo. University applications breathing down my neck but I think I'm getting there. Every day I wake up sometime past 11am and eat the leftovers my parents bring me up from the hotel breakfast. We're on the edge of something big: I can feel it rumbling in my bones.

Years from now, time-numbed and half-remembered, this will all seem trivial -- a quiet ripple in the waters, shivering out to sea. For now I will take my leap of faith, push my little boat out into the ocean, and try to remember to keep afloat.
