Someone scooped the snow from my sidewalk.  I can't think of who it might have been.  I don't have neighbors on either side at the moment.  The people further south would rather turn me in for not scooping it than anything else.  The only likely candidate I can see is the halfway house on the corner.  Over that last year I've been cleaning clutter ( Read more... )

Over the summer I’ve followed the renovations in the neighborhood. The house to the north of me is almost finished. The owner took me in and showed me what they had done. They only had the kitchen left. They’d saved the old claw foot tub in upstairs bath. They even had a professional restorer refinish the white coating.

The snow finally stopped.  I think we’ve got about 6 inches on the ground.  I dragged my lazy self out and scooped the walk this morning.  I hope that is the last time I have to scoop this winter.  I’m certain it won’t be, but I can hope.

 I ran into my neighbor lady a couple days ago.  If you’ll remember she’s on probation for drugs.  She was close to falling down drunk and on her way out to the bars to celebrate her birthday.  Several of her friends were along with her, including a guy I know to be a drug dealer.

My neighbor lady showed up again this morning.  She’s safe.  Thank the gods.  She was where I’d figured she was ... in jail.  I guess she’s on work release now, so she still won’t be around for a while.  She just stopped by the apartment to check on things.

It’s going to be interesting getting home this evening.  We had a forecast of 1 to 3 inches of snow.  I got up early and ran to work to beat the storm.  Since 6:15 this morning, we’ve had, what looks to be six inches of snow.  All of the traffic outside is lined up tight and going slow so it must be pretty slick if the snow virgins are slowing down ( Read more... )
