Learn to swim alone, learn to fly

Last night's excursion was to the newly reopened Ropewalk. At first I was suspicious that we'd be turned away for looking like scruffy tramps, but the door staff were friendly enough. The staff have been trained to sell the booze, giving you entire product histories if you just want a beer. There's table service too, possibly seeing as they were hideously overstaffed (four people on a very quiet night). Décor reminded me of my Gran's a bit as well. big_fat_stu was working the empty upstairs bar, and we were joined by baybee_bat and the returning perfectglitch. Then, against my better judgement, decided to go to City for a bit. City was weird, and not just because shallowthing appeared to have a lady in tow. It's that weird time of the year when everyone's leaving and going to Uni, and it was reminding me far too much that it's nigh on five years since I escaped the confines of Norwich and made myself a life up here. Left early, went home and thought about Stuff. Cleared my head a bit.

Cast them off like long rope and learn to swim the dark water alone.
Look up to the stars stars stars and know that this is your sky now.
