Well, at least in California -- they are not cheese curds, despite saying "Wisconsin" on the package.  They are too soft, not salty enough, and not at all squeaky.  I even left them sit out to get to room temperature for maximal curdiness, and yet I am disappointed.  There will be some serious cheese curd savoring to be done over the holidays in ( Read more... )

I had a nice time at my cooking class tonight... Fiesta Mexicana!  We learned how to make (and sampled, whee!) margaritas, enchiladas verde, chicken flautas, chicken mole, shrimp & scallop ceviche, and carne asada tacos.  For dessert, our chef bought a tres leches cake and we also had a slice of that.  I have eaten a lot of enchiladas in my day, ( Read more... )

The concept of a formal "weekend" is going to be one to revisit for me... now that I will have a routine schedule, I can really embrace those two little days off in a new way.  This weekend was exceptionally nice!

Can I just say how sad I am right now?  I opened a new jar of peanut butter tonight, to have with an apple as my bedtime snack, and it is quite possibly the most bland blah flavorless peanut butter I have ever had.  Maybe it's because there is no sugar in it, just roasted peanuts & sea salt.  Either way, I am just saying that East Wind Peanut ( Read more... )
