So today for work, I was sent to my alma mater to recruit at a career fair. Two boys drowned in the river here on Friday - a 16 year old and a 6 year old. Apparently, it happened in an area we call “the pit.” It lies beside an asphalt recreational trail, the River Greenway, and it’s an area of deep, relatively calm water along the south side of the river on the east side of town.
