Chapter 8

The party was quickly underway and by the time Kyuhyun and Sungmin got there, the house was packed and filled with music.
“That was quick,” Sungmin giggled and Kyuhyun gave a small smile.
“I’m going to take a shower and change clothes before I start partying,” he said and Sungmin gave him a smile.
“Want some company,” Sungmin asked and Kyu smiled, but then it faded remembering what his father said.
“Actually you should probably just wait here. It won’t be any fun with this ankle bothering me.” Sungmin slowly nodded and went to help Kyuhyun up the stairs but he stopped him
“I can do it myself Sungmin,” he said and Sungmin watched him get up to his room a little confused by his behavior.

Donghae and Eunhyuk were dancing to the music, but Donghae mind was drifting off into another world. Lately, his thoughts of Eunhyuk and Jandi were getting worse. He was even having nightmares of catching the two of them in bed together or Eunhyuk leaving him for his newfound lover. Eunhyuk pulled Donghae face back to him getting his attention.
“What’s up with you lately? It’s like your head is somewhere else, what is going on,” Eunhyuk asked frustrated but before Donghae could answer he heard yelling at the door. He went to go see what was going on. Ten men walked into the door and he rolled his eyes looking at their Phi Beta Kappa jackets.
“Sorry guys you aren’t welcomed here,” he said showing them the door and they all rolled their eyes.
“Get the stick out your ass Donghae we just want to party,” said one of the guys and Donghae went to walk toward him but Eunhyuk stopped him. Before Donghae could say anything, Hangeng walked up.
“Is there a problem here gentlemen,” he asked and the guys shook their heads.
“We want to party,” they chanted and Hangeng calmed them down.
“Alright, fine, but any problems and you are all out,” he warned. They all walked in and Hangeng looked at Donghae.
“It will be fine, just go enjoy the party,” he suggested and then went to find Heechul. Donghae sighed and looked at Eunhyuk who had his arms crossed. He pulled Eunhyuk to him and gave him a smile.
“Let’s dance,” he said and Eunhyuk smiled before pulling him toward the dance floor.

Kyuhyun made his way downstairs and was congratulated on the win plus given pep talks about his ankle. He grabbed a beer and headed out back to sit down. He opened it only for Sungmin to take it from him.
“That isn’t going to make you feel better and you’re underage Kyuhyun,” Sungmin informed and he rolled his eyes.
“Alcohol takes away the pain, you should know that,” he smirked and Sungmin sat down by him. Sungmin pulled Kyuhyun face toward him and looked in his eyes.
“I know you’re upset, but don’t take it out on me ok,” Sungmin said and he jerked away.
“You know I’m upset, you don’t know alright? I worked my ass off only to have one fucking play erase years of hard work,” he said and Sungmin stood up.
“It’s a couple of months off Kyuhyun, you will still have your spot when you get back,”Sungmin shouted and Kyuhyun looked the other way.
“Whatever, you’ll never understand, this was a mistake,” he said and Sungmin ran his hands through his hair.
“You’re right, this party isn’t helping so how about we go to my place and relax,” Sungmin said and Kyuhyun looked at him.
“I’m not talking about the party,” he began but looked down, “I’m talking about us.” Sungmin looked at him confused and shook his head.
“You don’t mean that,” Sungmin said and he got his crutches and stood up.
“I’m an athlete, you’re a book worm, we don’t mix and at the end of the day you would just be a good lay,” he said and Sungmin quickly slapped him since it was his first reaction. Tears streamed down Sungmin face and Kyuhyun looked away trying to stay in character.
“I thought you were different,” Sungmin said and Kyuhyun gave a smirk.
“I’m Cho Kyuhyun, basketball star, and you are just another distraction,” he stated. Sungmin walked out of the gate in the back and Kyuhyun tried to fight his tears before sitting down and taking a drink.

Donghae and Eunhyuk were dancing again, but Donghae couldn’t take his eyes off of the Phi Beta Kappas. Eunhyuk pushed him away.
“Would you rather be dancing with one of them,” Eunhyuk asked and Donghae sighed.
“I’m just worried something is going to happen,” Donghae said and Eunhyuk rolled his eyes.
“You should be less worried about them and more worried about us,” Eunhyuk said walking out. Donghae followed Eunhyuk outside.
“What is that supposed to mean,” he challenged and Eunhyuk glared at him.
“It means that you are fucking up big time Donghae and I’m so damn confused about what is going on with you. Ever since I got back, you have been acting like you don’t want to be together anymore. You are ruining us,” Eunhyuk yelled and Donghae threw up his hands.
“I’m ruining us,” he questioned and Eunhyuk crossed his arms.
“Two months, Donghae, two months we were apart and now that we are back together things should be so great, but they aren’t,” Eunhyuk said disappointedly.
“I’m not ruining our relationship Hyukjae, what happened during those two months is,” he yelled and Eunhyuk looked at him confused.
“So you have no clue what I am talking about,” he asked and Eunhyuk shook his head.
“Jandi, Eunhyuk, I know something happened between the two of you,” he accused and Eunhyuk couldn’t believe what he was hearing at that moment.
“Admit it, you slept with her or at least messed around,” Donghae accused and Eunhyuk shook his head.
“I can’t believe that after all these years you don’t even trust me,” Eunhyuk said as tears streamed down his face.
“You didn’t even miss me,” Donghae said as his eyes swelled with tears, “you would call and sound so damn happy and it killed me because I was miserable.” Eunhyuk looked down at the ground and then back at him.
“I missed you so much…”
“ You…” he began but Eunhyuk cut him off.
“You’re going to listen, Donghae because that is the least that you owe me at this moment,” Eunhyuk stated and Donghae was quiet.
“I missed you so much and I was so homesick. There were so many days I would look at the flight schedule or my bags and just want to pick them up and come home. Then I met Jandi and she made things easier on me because she felt the same way. When I would call you I knew that breaking down on the phone would make it harder on the both of us so I stayed strong but would break down in tears after hanging up. I thought about you everyday and this picture is so worn down because I would sleep with it,” Eunhyuk said throwing the picture of the two of them on vacation together at him. Donghae just listened.
“I missed you and right now I can’t even believe you would question that or my faithfulness,” Eunhyuk said and Donghae stayed stubborn.
“Every time we talked you mentioned her. For someone who was so homesick, you sure did talk about her a lot,” Donghae said and Eunhyuk shook his head.
“You know what Hae, I don’t know what is crazier, the fact that you think I cheated or the fact that you could be so blind to how much I love and missed you. JanDi is Married, Donghae, we connected because we both were missing our other half like crazy,” Eunhyuk confessed and Donghae was speechless.
“But you know what Donghae, you don’t trust me, and the fact that you could even fathom the idea that I would cheat on you says a lot about our relationship. You are the one who kept all this inside and you are the one who wasn’t truthful so don’t talk to me like I’m to blame. You are the one full of shit and Donghae you ruined us,” Eunhyuk said and walked away. Eunhyuk turned back to Donghae before reaching the sidewalk.
“We’re through,” Eunhyuk said and Donghae just stood there trying to find the words to say, but couldn’t. His worst fear was coming true. Eunhyuk was leaving him, but he was the one to blame, not Eunhyuk.

Leeteuk and Kangin were walking to the party.
“Maybe we should just stay in tonight Kangin, you know Hangeng isn’t your favorite person,” Leeteuk said and Kangin laughed.
“True but he usually throws kick ass parties,” Kangin said. They got closer to the house and Leeteuk spotted Eunhyuk walking the opposite way on the other side of the street. Leeteuk could immediately tell Eunhyuk was upset.
“I better go check on Eunhyuk, I’ll meet you at the party,” Leeteuk said and Kangin nodded before continuing toward the music. Kangin made his way inside and looked around. He saw Hangeng and looked at him.
“Nice party Hangeng,” he smirked and Hangeng rolled his eyes.
“I would love to stand here and argue but I am looking for Heechul,” he said and walked out. Kangin laughed a little and then saw Yesung walking into the party. He went over to him.
“Hey you’re Yesung, we need to talk,” he said and Yesung looked at him curiously.
“Now,” added Kangin and Yesung followed him into the kitchen away from most of the people. Kangin poured a drink.
“Welcome to SNU,” he said and Yesung took a soda from the refrigerator.
“How do you even know who I am?” Kangin smiled.
“You’re the one who let him get away. I saw a picture of the two of you in his senior yearbook. That’s cute,” laughed Kangin and Yesung rolled his eyes before walking away.
“That’s right, keep walking and stay away from my Leeteuk,” he said and Yesung looked at him.
“Your Leeteuk huh, he isn’t your property Kangin and he deserves way better than you,” said Yesung and Kangin laughed.
“Like who some Shinwa University loser who couldn’t keep Leeteuk satisfied in the first place,” he challenged and Yesung gritted his teeth.
“Leeteuk needed a real man, no wonder he dumped you,” he laughed. Yesung punched him knocking Kangin back. Kangin quickly charged him and they slid across the floor into the living room. They both got up and Kangin punched Yesung but it just fueled him even more. Yesung tackled Kangin into a table breaking it. Hangeng and Siwon pulled them apart as Kangin’s frat brothers came to his aid. Leeteuk was walking in as Hangeng began to scream.
“That’s it, Phi Beta Kappas out, all of you,” he demanded and Kangin wiped some blood from his lip.
“That bastard hit me first,” he said and Yesung tried to charge him again.
“Keep it up and I’ll lay you out again,” he said and Hangeng looked at him.
“That’s enough, now Kappas out,” he yelled and Kangin and his group left. Leeteuk looked at Hangeng confused and he shrugged frustrated. Leeteuk went after Kangin to get the story. Hangeng pulled Yesung outside in the back to talk to him as Kyuhyun was passing by.
“Are you drunk,” asked Hangeng and Kyuhyun rolled his eyes not saying a word and going up to his room.
“What the hell is going on,” yelled Hangeng and Yesung sighed.
“Will you just calm down, this doesn’t involve you, alright!” Hangeng pushed his little brother.
“You want to fight, do it in a ring,” he said and Yesung looked down, “this is serious Yesung. Our frat house is on campus grounds which means what happens here can affect our chapter.”
“You think I give a care about your chapter Hyung? I was doing just fine on my own so….”
“Yea, that’s why you transferred your ass over here because you were doing just fine Shinwa boy.”
“Look I don’t need any of this alright? I don’t need some preppy frat boy trying to talk to me, I don’t need Leeteuk, and you know what, I don’t need you Hyung!” he yelled and then walked out. Hangeng was hurt by the words and there were so many things wrong at that moment. Suddenly Heechul walked out and touched his shoulder.
“Are you ok,” he asked and Hangeng looked at him.
“Where the hell have you been through all this,” he asked and Heechul glared at him.
“Hey don’t go off on me because Yesung yelled at you!”
“This isn’t about Yesung, this is about us, you’ve been MIA all during the party, you barely said anything at the game, you don’t talk to me, and you want to know if I am ok? Hell no Heechul I am not ok.”
“What’s going on with us? Hangeng you are the one who will change everything not me. You are the most inconsiderate jerk. You are leaving me after the summer to go to Hwanha and you haven’t even mentioned how that will affect us or the future. I want to be happy for you but damn it did you even think about what would happen to us,” Heechul cried and Hangeng was speechless since so much was coming at him at once. Heechul shook his head and ran out leaving Hangeng there to think about what all happened.

Leeteuk caught up with Kangin before he walked up to his house.
“Care to tell me what the hell that was all about?” Kangin rolled his eyes.
“It was nothing alright, look I just want to be alone right now,” he said and then walked inside. Leeteuk sighed and headed home not wanting to party anymore. He spotted Yesung walking toward his dorm room and he ran to catch up with Yesung.
“Ok someone is going to tell me what happened tonight. Why the hell were you fighting with Kangin?” Yesung rolled his eyes.
“I don’t have time for this,” he said but Leeteuk stopped him.
“You have time to give Kangin a black eye but not time to talk?” He gritted his teeth.
“Why the hell does everything have to be so complicated with you? You are the most infuriating person I have ever met in my life,” Yesung yelled and Leeteuk laughed.
“I’m complicated, you are the one screwing up things for me,” Leeteuk said and Yesung looked at him .
“Last time I checked, us kissing each other screwed up way more stuff than me fighting Kangin. That’s why he was all territorial tonight.” Yesung mocked Kangin by banging on his chest.
“Me, Kangin, Leeteuk, mine, give me a break, the guy is a joke just like your relationship with him is,” he said and Leeteuk glared at him.
“You don’t even know Kangin or me anymore for that matter.”
“I know that Kangin will never be good enough for you and you will never mean what you should to him.”
“Oh really and how do you know that?”
“Because if you did then he wouldn’t be using his account to stream videos of him messing around,” he said and Leeteuk shook his head.
“Unbelievable, I can’t believe you would just stand here and lie to me!”
“The only person lying here is you because you don’t want to admit I am right,” Yesung yelled back and Leeteuk rolled his eyes.
“Oh get over yourself Yesung. You are so jealous of my relationship because you don’t have what I do.” Yesung laughed.
“Yea, oh please let me wish upon a star and have a fairy bring me someone who will cheat on me probably more than once. Please oh please,” he mocked and Leeteuk shook his head.
“You just don’t want to see me happy,” Leeteuk accused and Yesung looked at him with tears in his eyes.
“All I ever wanted was your happiness,” he yelled, “you left me and said you needed to go your own way after high school. You gave up on us and what we had but I let you because I loved you too much to stand in your way.” Leeteuk let his tears be exposed.
“I loved you Yesung,” he confessed and Yesung was quiet, “you got accepted into Shinwa University and I knew you were thinking about giving it up to stay with me. I wanted that so much, but I didn’t want you to regret staying that’s why I broke up with you. I needed to let you go and I needed you to be happy.” Yesung couldn’t take the words. They burned his heart and everything inside him hurt when the truth was revealed. Yesung couldn’t stop his tears as he spoke.
“I wanted to be with you. I wanted to come here in the first place but when you dumped me I couldn’t take being at the same school as you,” he said and Leeteuk cried realizing how things were messed up in their past.
“You broke my heart Leeteuk and I went to a school that I knew I would hate just to get away from the pain of losing you,” he cried and Leeteuk couldn’t look at him, “but that doesn’t matter now.” Yesung said it mostly to himself and Leetuk looked up as Yesung wiped his eyes.
“That was years ago and I am done hurting over you. If you want to be in a loveless relationship, that’s not my problem anymore,” he said and then walked into the dorms leaving Leeteuk hurting and not wanting to believe the truth. Yesung loved him and only wanted to be with him after high school but Leeteuk pushed him away thinking it was for the best. Leeteuk just walked home and cried in his room.
