If you've got a Cobra radar detector of the previous generation, you can see the FHP's laser trap at the end of Robert Bond Blvd from about a half a mile away. Ran a co-worker's 1.8L turbocharged VW GTI; stage two (whatever the hell that means in VW Performance Land). I ran a horrible race. Ugly as hell; gave the GTI the jump from 15mph, shifted waa-a-a-y early out of first, bounced off the rev limiter in second. Killed a fourth-gen 1999-2004ish mustang GT on the way to work; went from a stoplight into an immediate left turn; about a thousand feet down the road, the two lanes narrow down into one lane, and neither one of us was gonna concede second place ( Read more... )
