...so I had one of our resident vehicle experts (if he's not a master mechanic, he's damn close) for Adams Automotive take a good listen, and he doesn't think it sounds like bottom end. He thinks it came from the top end, but wants another listen.

All hope not lost.

But I'm not counting on it, so I'm putting the other Z back together ASAP.

These were my ramps. Well, they still ARE my ramps, but I'll be damned if I get underneath a car on 'em.
