100% life.

I am free, baby! Finished off all my post-planning tasks an hour ago, and now I have absolutely nothing to do for nine weeks. I'm also excited that I will officially teach Reading full-time next year. Despite my fanfic hobby, I've never enjoyed Language Arts. Too much grammar and composition to slog through, which wears me down. Each year, I beg them to switch me to Reading, and they finally have an open position. (Plus, NCLB requires teachers to be certified in their subject, and only two of us actually have Reading certification. ;) It'll be 8th grade, which is a bit scary after five years with 6th, but I think I'll be okay.

But I don't want to even think about school stuff for at least another month! I'm just going to take it easy and enjoy what I call "my reward for dealing with hyper and hormonal 11-12 year olds for ten straight months." ;)

Oh, and I'm also going to catch up on LJ replies -- if you've commented lately, I haven't forgotten you. Promise!

I came home to mailbox loveliness. First, a big bottle of philosophy's Empowermint. I adore pepperminty shower gels -- heck, anything minty is fine by me. Was that what you mentioned, Anna? If so, thank you SO much!

The other lovely box was from Knitpicks, with yarns for two possible projects: '70s earthtones that flatter my warm coloring (I'm all about the oranges and golds), then some summery green/turquoise/gold. The real treat, though, was Big Girl Knits. I bought the book from Knitpicks on a lark, since I have very ample cleavage and can never seem to make my sweaters fit right (without either being too huge or too tight.) Thumbing through it, I squealed with delight at the fashionable, beautiful projects. But the best part? I looked at the author info and discovered it was written by the two women who do Knitty.com -- the coolest knitting website ever. Whee! If you're interested and would like to see some of the projects, go to the Knitpicks listing and click on "view inside pages". Can't wait to get started!

See? I challenged myself to do a post with absolutely NO fandom stuff, and I succeeded. Yay, me. Right now, though, I really need a nice, long nap.
