Well, phooey. The tablet won't charge. So I guess I have to return it, after I spent all night last night getting it set up to my satisfaction.

Rio Karma #2 is attached to the computer and loading 32GB of music onto its spiffy new CF card. I didn't do everything I probably should have done on it to get it re-assembled correctly. I didn't Dremel the CF mod card to bypass the volume buttons, and I didn't track down new screws to hold the screen on properly. I'm hoping the pressure from the ( Read more... )

I'm full of geeky excitement. I think I have found a solution for my beloved Rio Karmas. I have three of them, but only one currently works. The original Karma has, by far, the best sound and software of any (beats the iPod hands down), but its construction quality was lacking. Our Droid phones arrived yesterday. We've been playing with them all day. Geekiness is fun!

Thank God for the people who created Spybot. It did the trick. Well, that and fixing the proxy settings in my Internet Connections so that it didn't keep taking me to that site. My computer's right as rain, and I've got Spybot and a new anti-virus going on it.

So I'd REALLY, REALLY like to be able to watch a movie on the shiny new Blu-Ray player we got. If only Memorex would get off their collective ass and update the firmware so that I can.
