Rio Karma #2 is attached to the computer and loading 32GB of music onto its spiffy new CF card. I didn't do everything I probably should have done on it to get it re-assembled correctly. I didn't Dremel the CF mod card to bypass the volume buttons, and I didn't track down new screws to hold the screen on properly. I'm hoping the pressure from the case will be enough to keep it in place, but I really should have Dremeled the card, because it is a little tight. Maybe I'll get a case for it. Also, the thumb stick doesn't work properly, which is a big problem with navigation - I can't scroll down, only up and left and right.

Rio Karma #1 is charging on its dock, getting ready to be loaded. Its case isn't on it at the moment, though, because I'm hoping Joe can fix the power button. I didn't wind up using the CF mod card on it, because the hard drive that came out of Karma #2 seems to still work, and I'd rather use it than shell out for another 32GB CF card, even if it's only $60 or so. I still have the mod card, though, so I may use it someday - I may even pick up a non-working Karma to use it with - usually, and non-worker just needs a new drive. If Joe can fix the power button, though, I'm going to switch the hard drive and CF card, because the thumb stick on this one actually works correctly.

Rio Karma #3 was the first one I did, because all it needed was a new battery, so it seemed as though that would be the best option for my first crack at fixing them.

Soon, I shall have three reassembled, fully working Rio Karmas, and all will be right with the world. I'm doubly excited because this is the first time I've ever done anything like this.
