Yesterday I helped sort through and box up donated clothes for flood victims. It looked a little like the world's biggest, most unruly garage sale. I took cell phone pics but keeperofthecats has the memory card for my phone and is gone, so I will post them when she gets back. The water has receded some (you can look at keeperofthecats's lj to see a couple pics) but we're still flooded out. It's so crazy. We're on water restrictions, cannot bathe and are asked to use the minimum of water and sewer that we can. So, driving home today - usually a 15-minute excursion - involved a 20 minute drive out to 151, then around to Mt. Vernon Rd, up to the hospital, through downtown to the interstate, interstate to 33rd, 33 to 15th, that to 16th, and home.  When we got there, we walked in and I announced, 'we're here for the Hurricane party!'And why, you may ask?  ( Read more... )
