February 17 Remember that potential snarf I spotted using my snarfage super-powers from the saddle of Q Mountain? It turned out to be a real snarf.

The BLM marks historic places with a plain “Do not molest the historic places” sign. In my book, that makes it worthy of Markeroni.

02 May: I go straight out to hunt geocaches this morning and find one of the wonders of Palm Springs; a VW bug, sculpted with giant legs to look like a spider. There’s another one in Reno, and seeing it makes my day.

01 May: We leave in temperatures well past the 90s and head straight to Wiley’s Well rest area, where we do the backups and I find a geocache, as well as visiting the historical marker for this year’s Challenge. 20 April: At sunrise I’m near a historic cemetery that belonged to Ogilby, a town that no longer exists. Some of the graves are far too small. I’ve never liked seeing children’s graves.

I don’t find the geocache in the foundations of its old school, but I find plenty more when I start walking up Sidewinder Road, which is where the Presidents’ ( Read more... )

07 April: I head out on a mini snarfari this morning. I learn several things. First, one should always, always, always bring a hat. It is only 10 by the time I finish and I am sweating buckets.

02 April: I work on the redesign all day, working on how it looks, maps, and books. I’m quite pleased with the result but there’s something missing’ it still looks amateurish to me. I really struggle with maps not working until I finally figure out that one program that I needed to call wasn’t being called, and bob’s yer uncle.
