A few days ago I realised that there are way too many remote controls on the table. Two of them were obviously interchangeable since one was from the TV and the other from the DVD/VCR recorder of the same brand as the telly. An immediate problem with setting up Mint turned up almost at the first boot. The installation went ok, but upon the first start the monitor only supported 800*600 video mode, while Windows easily works at 1024*768. I tried to switch resolution manually in the Mint settings, but 800*600 was the maximum offered at the time.
