I used to read this book a lot when I was a kid, but can't for the life of me remember it's title! I think it had a green cover with a woodblock style print on it.
Set in Africa, possibly a memoir. A young British girl and her father living in Africa in Victorian/colonial era and I think they were travelling down a river at some point? Her father may have been a famous explorer/naturalist/surveyor/missionary.
I think the title included words like journey, travel, traveler, something like that. Mary Kingsley seems to sound familiar but I couldn't find any book by/about her like what I remember.
Ring any bells?? It's suddenly popped back into my head and I'd love to read it again! Thanks :)

EDIT:
Found! I emailed my mum and she told me it was "African Traveller: The Story of Mary Kingsley" by Ronald Syme. Turns out she actually wrote to the author along with a picture of him sitting under some palm trees (he lived in the Cook Islands) b/c she loved the book and he sent her a signed copy! It was written in the 60's.
