(have been lurking since spotlight, love y'all!)
Does anyone have a recipe that sounds like this?
My friend made this muy authentic mexican soup that she called, and I know that I'm butchering this, bassile(?). She said that it took all day, and that she had to remove seeds, boil, and cooked down the peppers, add the meat and let it go for a long time, then remove the bones. The resulting soup was deep red/brown spicy, and was served with fresh lime, onion, cilantro, and cabbage on the side. Aside from that I have nothing to go on.
It was refreshing, deep, and earthy. I have got to tell you, I dream about how good that soup was. And it has to have a crock type application, somewhere. I understand why she hasn't gotten around to sharing the recipe with me yet. I would be hard pressed to share something that I made as well as she made that soup.
Any ideas?
