I believe you may be talking about Pozole - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pozole

And if so, it sounds like Pozole Rojo, because you said it was red.

If you're searching for recipes online an alternate spelling is Posole.

Thank you! I knew I was pronouning it wrong. And now that I see it spelled you are so correct. Google is no help in spelling a word I hardly know.

Dude, dude. I know that I am going to get this wrong a couple of times, and that I am going to ruin no less than three (probably more) sets of perfectly good ingredients. But if I get there, the journey will have been worth it.

sounds like posole. There are a lot of yummy recipes online. I found a chicken one (although it's usually made with pork) on allrecipes.com a few months ago.

My random question is: why is she so insistent on not sharing the recipe? When I make something amazing (recently did a non-crock recipe - cilanro lime chicken w avocado salsa - SO GOOD!!!) I share the recipe with EVERYONE I know, even people who don't ask for it! I call my mom, my stepmom, and my grandma. I post it on myspace bulletins, lol. Anyway, just seems strange to me!!
