Yesterday Lithuania said good bye to the biggest sporting event in this country not only this year but also this decade: European basketball championships 2011. Championships were really impressive and were held and felt not only in the arenas:

International Hansa Days Kaunas 2011 are over. This is probably the biggest festival held in this town in history. Four days of nearly 24 hours of concerts, shows , etc. non-stop are over. All fairy-tales one day finishes ... But the days were very good . This is first part of my impressions:

Yesterday here in Kaunas International Hansa days started. This is probably the largest festivity here: representatives from about 150 towns somehow related with ancient merchant union came here. Football week in Kaunas is over. Yesterday Lithuanian team in a tough fight lost their game against world champions - Spain 1:3. Anyway it's not the shame to loose the game to the world champions in a such really tough competition.

Last night we had very heavy snowfall. First so heavy snowfall this winter. Today I became accidental witness of safety on the road action not far from the home :)))

Last week in my first report about Alytus I mentioned that November 23 in Lithuania is celebrated as an army day. Today at midday I traveled in Kaunas center and observed that something going on. This evening Lithuanian national team will play in the qualifying tournament for the next European football championships. It become almost tradition that in our group Scotland national team will play. And the first game this evening in Kaunas is against Scotland. So today as yesterday here you can see a lots of Scotland's fans :))

Last night large parts of this country suffered unordinary storm. The center of the storm were Kaunas area. Unfortunately there were human casualties: at least for people people were killed during storm. In this extra report some results of the storm:
