That kitten, Ziggy? He didn't make it. He developed fluid in his chest cavity that wasn't curable or operable a few weeks after he got over the surgery. He died in the vet's office, in my arms, on June 24. My daughter is lobbying for another kitten, since there are many in the area that need homes, but I'm not ready and neither is R. The last of our business of ferrets, Trelane, has crossed the rainbow bridge a few minutes ago. Rich is digging his grave in the backyard, through the frozen ground. He probably just turned 7 years old, which is quite elderly for a ferret. I hope he is playing with Bitewald and Clarence, who preceded him over the rainbow bridge.

Trelane is home from the vet. His surgery went very well, according to his doctor. The tumor was "small to medium sized" and on the left adrenal gland (which is the "easy one", apparently. The other one has many more blood vessels). He's got a big incision on his belly and a bunch of staples. But he seems to be VERY happy to be home now.

We made it through the Pagan Picnic this weekend, and that huge box is now checked off on my "to do" list. Whew. I had 5 people attend my tarot class, and as usual, learned more from my students than I feel I taught them.
