The domestic violence advocacy organization I work for recently had a big financial upheaval, which led to some major cutbacks. Fortunately, I didn't get laid off, but my hours have been reduced from about 30 a week to 12. One of the (very few) perks of my job is the free stuff. We get mountains of donations at the shelter, much of it things that we can't use. We typically pass those things on to Goodwill or another charity, but sometimes staff members are encouraged to take stuff just to get rid of it. It turned out that the crackhead resident in the shelter really was a crackhead! She didn't come home on Wednesday night, so we filed a missing persons report. The police found her in the South End, which is where all of the crack and meth houses in Chillicothe are. So, if you're ever in Chilli and need to buy some drugs...
