W just called and said the vet told her that Jack has feline leukemia (which apparently, despite the name, is actually a contagious virus that essentially causes cats to waste away to nothing while losing the ability to walk, eat, etc ( Read more... )

Everybody was beat today, so after lunch today, we put the girls down for naps (around 12:30), cleaned up, then took naps ourselves. G made a brief appearance in our room around 1:30 and we sent her back to bed, but otherwise we all slept until 3:00. Boy, that was a nice rest ( Read more... )

G has been home for only a couple of days and she already has formed a bond with Hiro.

She plays with him every morning. She helps feed him. She gives him kitty treats and he actually eats them -- even though he would never eat one when W or I gave it to him. Last night she fed him some chicken that we were having for dinner...

Our giant-sized Costco container of laundry detergent had a leak and dumped at least a gallon of laundry detergent on the floor of the laundry room and down the front of the washer. How exactly do you clean up that much soap?!?! I used as many dry towels as I could to sop it up, which still left a lot of soap on the tile. Then I used a wet cloth ( Read more... )

M now seems to be "trained" to stay in bed and quiet until 8 AM (the past two days she has woken up at exactly 8). However, our newest addition, Hiro -- who is a "talker" -- has been meowing in the middle of the night. Sunday, W said she heard him at 3 in the morning. Last night, I heard him at 5 AM.
