Okay, so now that the weather conditions in my little corner of the world (Ellensburg, WA) have reached epic cold proportions, I'm searching for a few stew/soup recipes. I have a few requirements. The recipe needs to be:
- cheap
- freezable
- light on soy (I'm trying to cut back on how much soy I eat. A cup or so for a recipe is okay, though.)
- heavy, hearty, and filling
Any suggestions?
Also, I have about three to four cups of plain pumpkin puree sitting in my fridge, waiting. I wanted to puree some carrots and add them together to make a soup base, but I'm not sure what else I should add to it to make an actual soup. I want the soup to be on the creamy side with a bit of spice. I'm thinking something along the lines of a curry flavored soup. Any suggestions for what I should add to the puree?
Finally, I'm looking for a simple and cheap wheat bread recipe - one that is a basic recipe that I can tweak with other ingriedents.
