I had never read To Kill a Mockingbird but became intrigued by the Harper Lee character from watching Capote and especially Infamous. So I started the book. Last night we saw the new digitally restored Lawrence of Arabia on the big screen. What a spectacle! Normally I just enjoy the pace of older movies, but during the first half I actually started to grow impatient. Masses of warriors were on the move, and it seemed endless. The Academy Awards frequently blow over my head, but this year I almost wish I had watched the show. I was rooting for four movies that won. Danny and I just returned from viewing The Illusionist, the 2010 animated film directed by Sylvain Chomet. In 1959 an unemployed, middle-aged magician flees Paris. While visiting a remote Scottish village he attracts a young girl who follows him to Edinburgh. The story follows the course of their relationship.
