urthling update and general update
we've been doing solids for over a week now. and i think we are having our first allergic reaction. when we ran out of sweet potato we gave her some apple sauce. she acted like she didn't like the taste-and since i got an organic, nuthin' but smashed apples it has a very tart flavor. so we got out the avocado which she really seems to like. we gave her the apple sauce tues. and wed morning she got thebcman up with me. he was reading email and about 3 ft. away, i was making my oatmeal with my back turned to her. i went and looked at her and she had a tear coming from her left eye. i was surprised because i didn't hear her cry....wed and thurs she got avocado. yesterday morning i noticed she had a lot of eye boogers and this morning thebcman said she had a lot of dry eye boogers. i noticed last night that her eyes were puffy and red. they were puffy this morning but not so read, just watery. her supper tonight will be sweet potato if we can get one cooked enough in time for supper. thebcman may get his opportunity to feed her rice cereal. he asked me the other day why i was so adamant about not feeding her any. i'm not really, he can, but i'm not a hot cereal fan, i'm not going to give her something i wouldn't eat. there's mixed opinions about rice cereal.
in other urthling news, she's very cute when she gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth. sometimes she's on her hands, other times on her forearms. she can move across the floor pretty damn quick now! i think she has lots of fun being on the floor. we need to keep up with dust mopping the floors to keep down pet dander and general dust .
her hair is getting thicker. at the moment, its looking like it will be a brown with blond highlights. those dark patches that were auburn are gone :-( who knows what it will look like in several years.
we are researching convertible car seats. at the moment we are leaning towards a britax roundabout or a maxi-cosi priori. from what i'm reading online they should both fit in the back seat of our cars with out taking up too much space. the maxi-cosi has the cup holder, the britax doesn't. we are thinking about buying one new car seat for my car and getting a second hand one for thebcman since he doesn't have her in his car as much.
my week has been busy with finishing up recommendation letters. we finally got envelopes the other day and i've spent the last two days printing envelopes and stuffing them. in all the rush, i've been forgetting a few small files of addresses. so i've been getting those printed out and to faculty to sign. but now my desk is clear of the letters and i can focus on applications.
i just noticed i have baby snot on my sleeve.
next week is the last week of the semester, a week from today is stop day and the dept. party. then finals then its already xmas! this time of year always goes by so fast. which sometimes is good so that we can get back in a regular routine after the holly-daze.
watched Barbarella this week-had some good laughs at how cheezy it is and the bad props and bad special effects. got Zardoz yesterday-this is my week of cheezy sci-fi i guess.
we are supposed to have freezing rain tomorrow morning :-( bad for thebcman driving to work, i'll worry about him. hopefully it won't last long because i would like to get into larryville to get some xmas shopping done downtown.
