Halp!  I am trying to update my JRE, but the instructions on the website aren't working.  Can someone please walk me through this step-by-step?  Also, my computer doesn't seem to think my su password is correct; is there some way to reset it?

What is all this? Can I delete them? I'm trying to figure out why my browser keeps freezing. I don't think these would do it, but I'm trying everything. It's driving me up the wall.

Is anyone else having problems with the newest Mozilla build of Firefox crashing a lot?  It generally happens when I try to open a link from Delicious while running something using flash in another tab or sometimes when I'm loading an LJ page while the flash is running.  If it makes a difference, I use Ubuntu 10.04.

I am trying to update my version of Firefox to 9.0 from 8.0.1.  The tool that pops up in Firefox at first never actually connects, so I have to do it manually.  Trouble is, I am running 8 but also have the Ubuntu release for Ubuntu 10.04 (I think it's Firefox 3.5 or something) that I do not use.  What I need to know is: when I download Firefox 9.0 ( Read more... )

where does firefox save bookmarks?
I'm trying to set up my new desktop with all my stuff from my old one before it finally dies completely. I'd rather not take the effort of visiting every site I bookmarked and resetting them on this installation if it's possible to just copy/paste a file from one to the other.
