Christmas comes early

Thanks for all the lovely well wishes and reassuring emails, guys.

Unfortunately things haven't got better yet (in fact they got a lot worse for a while) but the storm has calmed for the moment so I'm taking a moment to breathe while I still can.

I think I'll move my Thankful posts to Sunday instead of Wednesday - it will be good to look back on the week and be thankful for all the little things that have got me through.

I think it's time for some more rainbow in my life.

Two minis - one for Fern, one for me!

I really like how the red-orange-yellow twist came out but I'm not happy with the purple-blue-green. I think maybe I needed stronger colours?

When I saw this embroidery on her blog I just went crazy - but how could you blame me?! Is it not the cutest thing you've ever seen?

I just like the freedom and happiness of it, the childlike beauty.

And Fern said she'd swap with me and I'm so glad we did!

I'm also in love with the the gradient border and how she's matched it up so there's sand and water, and you probably can't tell from the photo but she's free-motion quilted the border with that thread that fades from one colour to the next and she's even managed to get that into water and sea colours!

And it's padded! I love that! I'm just really in love with this little quilt and I haven't managed to let go of it yet - if I change rooms it has to come with me! It makes me smile every time I look at it (something I really need right now) - thank you, Fern. It's beautiful.

swap, quilt
