Raised Pork Pie

A foodie post to help lift some of the gloom. Many on my flist are dealing with sad situations, while this won't make all the sad things go away, I hope the distraction might be helpful.

I'm making lunch for 60 to be served at our Canton's big SCA event on Saturday. The theme of the event is a Day at the Faire. In keeping with this, I've set a menu of Pies and Pickles. Before I went to Costa Rica, I made two batches of Pickled Onions and a batch of Pickled Eggs. Our Kingdom colours are red and white. So I had some fun with beets. Next time, I think I'll put some horseradish in. The feature Pie will be a Raised Pork Pie - aka Gala Pie.

I've just had a bath and took some meds for a sore back. Must get back to the kitchen as I've lots to do and the House Elves have disappeared.
