I have Paint Shop Pro 8 installed on my laptop. It's a good program; I've used it for years. Point of fact I tried to install ... I think it was X3? And couldn't even get it to install properly. So I gave up on it and went back to my trusty PSP8.
Today I ... did something. I don't know what. All I know is that my main menu - the one where if offers the 'File', 'Image' 'Effects', ect. drop down menus - is gone. It's just not there. I went through help, I tried resetting my default options, I searched the net, nada. No one else admits to ever having this problem.
So I gave up and tried Corel's main site. Didn't find it listed anywhere, so I finally went for an actual tech support query. I entered in my problem, chose all the appropriate software I have from the drop down menus, ect. Then I click submit, and it informs me that they no longer offer tech support on my product. But I can download one of their free trials instead.
... Excuse me?
IF I HAD THE MONEY TO PAY FOR ONE OF THE BLOODY UPDATED VERSIONS, I'D ALREADY BE USING IT DIPSHIT. IF THE NEWER VERSION I TRIED TO PAY FOR HAD WORKED IN THE FIRST PLACE, WE WOULDN'T EVEN BE HAVING THIS CONVERSATION. YOU DON'T GET TO DECIDE MY PRODUCT IS TOO 'OLD' TO DEAL WITH.
I am seriously pissed enough that if I didn't hate Photoshop with a passion, I would seriously refuse to buy any Corel products again. Ever. As it is, I can't do any of my projects anymore without that fucking toolbar. If I didn't already know most of the keyboard shortcuts, I would be able to even look at my own pictures.
I need to go write someone bleeding now. Lots.
