In my case, I've just been too busy to sit down and watch anything for a while now. :(

If people would rather postpone this and try again later, I'd like to know so it's not just me talking to myself every week.

As far as the actual episodes are concerned, I really like Episode 17 because it seems to me like this is where the friendship between Sakura and Syaoran really starts, and how he helps her without insulting her. I know the romance and everything later is cute and all, but it's their friendship that I really like.

And Episode 18 does a really good job of foreshadowing Touya/Kaho, and it's something you don't really notice until you know it's coming. Without the context, his weird reaction to the shrine doesn't make much sense, but when you know the whole story, you can think that maybe he hasn't even been back since because there's still some lingering hurt there. You know I'm a shipper, though, so.

For me, it's just a matter of time. I feel bad for not participating like I wanted to but RL (and admittedly, being a rampant fandom whore) just has a way of interfering. -_-

I wonder if anyone would be into the idea of doing a livestream/ live chat discussion. I participate in a couple of weekly fandom-themed chats and it's been working out pretty well. It's something I can actually schedule into my life instead of just saying to myself "I'll get back to it" and then forget about. Just wanted to throw that out there.

I thought something less structured would work better, given the various time zones and real life responsibilities, but if anyone's interested in something like that, I could see if someone would be willing to be in charge of it. It's not something I'd have time to run.

Right away there's a plot hole: Kero whines that he can't turn on the AC because no one in the family is home, but Touya and Yukito are right next door studying. Somebody IS home, and aren't they hot too?

I brought this up when we were watching, and D pointed out that they don't always have central air like we do in the US, so each room has its own A/C unit. It's not that no one's home, it's that Kero can't turn on the A/C unit in Sakura's room because she's supposed to be gone.

Yes, Terada-sensei, something happened. You opened the door and walked into a cabin full of girls without knocking!Ha, I noticed that, too. I used to like Terada back in the day, but he does come across as a bit of a creeper ( ... )

Kero can't turn on the A/C unit in Sakura's room because she's supposed to be gone. - That's a pretty sensible theory, if someone can point out to me where her a/c unit is. I guess it's not built into the windows like here in the US, because I'm sure I don't see one. Still, I guess it's the best thing we have to go on.

When I've seen them in other series, they're usually over doors. Of course I didn't notice one here or not; I just took his word for it. Now I'm going to be looking....

It's got so much sweet romance, and great comedy, plus beautiful clothing to admire. I know for absolute certain that the Nelvajerks declined this episode, probably because there was too much 'Japanese culture' swimming around in it. God forbid American children see anything different or foreign on their TV sets, no doubt their tender little minds would explode.

Plus this is definitely a character-focused episode. Not enough ACTION! Boys won't watch unless there's ACTION! Character development is for girls. Where's the ACTION?

Touya gruffly giving Sakura the rabbit = the cutest.

Super adorable. Does she ever give him anything or do anything nice for him just because he's her brother and she loves him, or is it always just about how he's a big old meanie?

I try and think, but you're right, the only times I can ever come up with her putting any thought toward her brother is when he's about to/has just been attacked by a Clow Card, or donated his magic to Yue. Never just because. To be fair, he does spend a lot of time teasing her and bossing her around, and like many children who resent their parents she might feel she doesn't owe him any generosity or special concern. But then, she still finds the time to be so wonderfully nice to everyone in the show, Li and Meilin included. So I don't know. Frankly, I'd have rather had the writers be a little nicer to Touya than Sakura (re: my rant on episode 16), and that would have been enough for me.
