spn - born under a bad sign

that was the road to nazareth, from phantom traveler. the road to twin falls. (it don't look like idaho....)

GOD DAMMIT, THERE'S A FLYING THING IN MY HOUSE. >.<

richard sambora! heh. and dean's disappointed in the bon jovi fanmention.

dean is not at all wigged that sam blacked out and is covered with someone else's blood? maybe the only way to deal with it is to not wig and treat it like any other job. only one of them can wig at any given time, and sam is completely and understandably freaked out.

oh come on, sam had to have been possessed. smoking, drinking, whipping bottles at poor innocent gas station clerks.... why hasn't that occurred to dean? come on, dean, you know in your heart that your brother doesn't smoke, doesn't drink 40s, and sure as shit doesn't kill people without a damn good reason.

he's a hunter, the dead guy in the house. oops? explains the video cameras, at least. maybe he was one of the guys who was hunting sam. and now they'll have other hunters on their trail?

"i didn't want to scare you" - yeah, and disappearing for a week didn't freak dean out AT ALL....

so jo's bartending for money, huh? makes sense to me. gotta fund the demonhunting somehow.... and she does know from barwork.

sam definitely doesn't sound like himself. he's not acting like himself. plus the burn? (doesn't look like a tattoo. looks like scarification, kind of. a new scar.) that's a hint there.

yeah, this isn't sam. sam isn't mean. and come on, even with the demon's influence he'd never force himself on anyone - especially jo, who he doesn't even really like - the only spooky kid we've seen who we know was directly influenced by the ceiling demon was weber, and that had taken years. oh, wait, scott from hunted, had he seen the demon? but he only zapped to death once, and he didn't black out before or after, and he was clearly rattled.

how does sam know all this about how bill harvelle died? see, he's gotta be possessed.

ten bucks says the thing possessing sam wants him dead, and it's goading dean into shooting him.

aaaand there's the holy water. took you damn long enough, dean.

man, those were the most misleading previews ever, making us think he'd gone darkside. i'm actually vaguely disappointed. and i don't know if it's jared's acting or sam's samness or just the way the episode is written, but i don't quite buy evil!sam. he's a little, i dunno, ott. i mean, i shouldn't be giggling when he's taunting jo, should i.

so the question now is... what IS possessing him? besides some hunter-hating demon.... altho i can't imagine there are a lot of demony things that WOULDN'T take out as many hunters as they could, given the chance.

dean's ringtone IS smoke on the water. heee.

something about jo still rubs me the wrong way but i don't totally dislike her. i like how she bitches at dean while she's patching him up. she makes at least one ellenface. heh.

dude, i am BOUNCING with glee. bobby knew he wasn't sam. *\o/* and holy water in the beer is a nifty trick. i'm a little less disappointed in the episode now. i like that the demon knows a few new tricks too.

i was thinking this was way too close to meg's exorcism in devil's trap, and lo and behold, it really is. same demon and everything. which is also kind of nifty. but also really hard to watch - mostly sam beating up his brother, but also "i saw your dad, he says howdy" and demon!sam telling dean he's worthless (and that dean knows it) because he couldn't save john and he knows deep down he can't save sam. dean's face, man. that's really painful to watch.

(except i don't think dean believes that about sam. sam believes it, but i honestly think dean believes that a. sam won't go darkside, and b. if he does, dean can bring him back. because sam is his brother, and that's what he does.)

i'm so glad bobby didn't end up dead i can't even tell you.

"now if it's the last thing i do, i'm gonna save you." see, dean doesn't honestly think he'll have to shoot sam. he thinks he can protect his brother from everything, even himself.

i dunno, i'm vaguely disappointed in this one. and adding yet another group gunning for the boys is a little absurd. they've got the demon to hunt, gordon and his ilk to avoid, sam's destiny to avoid, the fbi to avoid, and now these friends of steve whatshisface, who are looking for the guy's killer. give it a rest already.

the scenes for next week look like attack of the b-movies. heh. we're about due for a nice silly episode.
