Here's another one of my projects. I made this from some halloween print cotton, 1/4" ribbon and some velcro. I used a plastic grocery bag cut open to make a pattern! Sorry about the blur, she's an active little dog LOL

I had some major setbacks on this waist cincher. I sewed one of the sides together upside-down and didn't realize it til I was putting the satin ribbon binding on it! Luckily I figured it out before I put the eyelets in. It added another hour and a half onto the project, but overall, I think it turned out pretty good (atleast from the outside, I ( Read more... )

I am just about done with my costume. I've got the bodice/corset assembled for the most part. I have to finish the raw edges and put in the gromets. It calls for using bias tape (cotton looking material folded in half), but I think I am going to go ahead and use cream colored satin ribbon for decoration. I got the beading on the skirt finished and the skirt assembled this afternoon! I also created a bumroll to create further fullness using these instructions. The author noted that the measurements she uses are adequate for someone 5'11" and "busty" so I sized it down by half (4" in the back, 2.5" on the sides). I finished the chemise I was working on! It took a little more time than I expected due to the technical difficulty I had with the machine, and then I had a problem with putting a sleeve in wrong! But, here it is in all it's glory. It's parchment cotton with rose ribbon and white lace:
