I cheat.

Everytime I go to London, I choose a time when the days are long and the people are happy. I skip the dreariness that is Winter, and take advantage of the light to do things like bask in the sun past seven in the evening, and stroll home under the darkening sky at eleven. My flight to London was the most bizarre yet. I was seated with two Aussies, with me occupying the aisle seat. They seemed pretty nice at first - friendly and polite, and so I didn't mind that they had A LOT of stuff. There was no intention to do a roadtrip to Malacca again. But then a visiting professor needed a ride up to see her relatives, so it seemed like a good idea to just make a family trip out of it. Hong Kong was too eventful to be summarised adequately in one post. But I have neither time nor leisure to go into the details. So a brief outline will do. We were a large group of 34 comprising 4 tutors, 24 student teachers, 5 teachers and 1 rep from the Earth Observatory of Singapore (also a trained Geog teacher).

Anyone who's seen the FB pics I put up knows we ate a lot in Hanoi. Well, can you blame us? We weren't really about the shopping and I've seen the sights in a previous trip. But when we weren't working, there was food. I mean, we are Singaporeans right?

Can I just state that I will do my utmost best to avoid going to Hanoi during the hot and wet season? Firstly, when it's hot, it's sultry as hell, and then it rains all day and all the mud and dirt on the streets end up splattered on my calves. I find that I liked it much better when it was cool.
