I promised myself that if I finished the Snow Dogs outline by 8.30, I could go out to the bar for a few drinks, but it's cold out and snow's on the way, and I have 3 more episodes of Generation Kill to watch before I can get started on my other visual projects. It's been a very, very, very good two days.

Yesterday, I received a few packages that made Thursday the best day of the week till then. I'd gotten issue #10 of Crimewave Magazine, a UK crime fiction publication I hope to one day have a story in. And I'd gotten a package from lizhand containing two of her books. It's done.

As of 3.19 AM this morning, the first draft of the rewritten Season comes in at a featherweight 54299 words if the NaNoWriMo counter is to be believed. I did it. In a single month, I wrote an entire novel(la/lette) and managed to not completely destroy myself. Alienated a few friends, but it's no damage that can't be undone ( Read more... )

Finished 3 chapters-worth of revisions to put me at exactly the halfway mark with Masada.

The silver lining to a day I hope I never have to repeat.

Chapter 4, done and done. Longest chapter in the book, so if I can manage at this pace, I just might, just, just might be done by the end of the month. Barring law school applications, homework, and a friend's manuscript critique. Of course.
