No sleep last night made for a rough, angry morning.

But on the walk back from the law school library, a very pretty girl smiled at me, unprovoked. And a brief conversation at the elevator of my building about hip replacements provided a convenient metaphor for where I'm at right now in life.

And the sun is out.

So I just finished Script Frenzy.

Which comes down to 115 pages in just over 5 days. That might be a new record, I'm not sure.

There's been a story simmering in my mind (not sure if it's a short or if it's novel material) that has antebellum America and slavery and its implications for race on my mind. Then this letter pops up via my Facebook newsfeed.

The kicker: "Say howdy to George Carter, and thank him for taking the pistol from you when you were shooting at me."
