Long answer is long and full of biochemistry. Medium answer: ammonia continues to climb and we have the presence of nitrites and nitrates! GROW, BACTERIA, GROW!

The short answer is that the new 29-gallon tank is most likely about a week away from being fish-ready.

The Good:
the Vancouver show (Friday) for the toaster was very well-hung (always good, no matter what you're discussing) and I got some very nice feedback on the piece. "Nice" both as in "helpful" and as in "positive/pleasant." facepalm + fishgeeking = fishpalm.

My female fancy guppy had a section of missing scales on her. Relative to her size, it was pretty big. Like if, say, a human being had a piece of skin the size of a bacon package scraped off. Five minutes of watching the tank told me why:
