So, I fed the fishies, and I just could not find Right, my gourami. I mean, he's little and brown. He's a hard guy to find, sometimes. But he's also adorable and fiesty and feeding the fish is a great way to find him.
But I couldn't. I spent the last forty minutes searching the tank for him, and when that failed, the counters, the floor... yeah, the floor. He didn't look mauled at all, just really... dry. Poor guy managed to flop all the way out of the kitchen into the hall. I don't think he jumped, but he likes to hang out at the surface. It's possible one of the cats poked him and startled him into jumping.
Now I don't know what to do... Left is in the 5gal on my desk, but Right is gone to his reward via the Last Flush. I always want more gourami, but I feel horrible trying to replace Right soon.
Whatever happens, getting some plastic canvas to cover the gap Right jumped out of is priority 1. ;_;
