All I can think of is, "I love my dead gay son!"My baby Watson has asthma! Poor sweetie. We took the babies in for their annual checkup on Saturday, and then mentioned to the vet that Watson seems to have problems like he's trying to cough up a furball, but totally unproductive. Holmes and Watson were abducted by aliens yesterday, or so they tell us -- Their annual visit to the vet went well. A year ago yesterday, Holmes weighed 4.4 pounds, and Watson weighed 4.6 pounds. Now "Slim Cat," as we call him weighs 10.8 pounds, and "Pudge" is a whopping 15.6! That's my pudgy baby! The vet says they're both in great health. Of ( Read more... )

Our next move will take us at least 1,000 miles from our present home in Austin. Ian and I are debating the best way to transport our two cats. Do any of you have experience moving cats - not dogs; they're really quite different, cats - across country? How did you do it, and do you have any advice to offer?

Well, this is disturbing. My washing machine seems to be leaking. Maybe just a hose connection is lose -- or maybe not. We purchased a service plan with it last March. The situation with my lack of employment is laughable (at least). Now and then I find a "real" job advertised for me, but rarely one which is right on the money (although one does turn up now and then). We eat a lot of chicken, and by that I mean... we eat a lot of chicken. We probably have dinners based on boneless skinless chicken breasts four nights every week at a minimum, often more than that. My mother took care of the kittens while we were gone on our Dragon*Con trip. Dutifully, Nana spent at least three hours with the kittens every day, talking to them, playing with the laser pointer, and miraculously even being allowed to snuggle them.
