I've been obsessed with the
Cruise Critic message boards lately. I spend so much time on them I almost forget about LJ. Speaking of cruises, guess what! I'm going on another one. My mom had such a good time with me that we booked one for just her and me in less than three months! I love that it's so close, it's much easier for me to get excited about something that way. It's a 5-day on the
Carnival Inspiration, with stops in Grand Cayman and Calica/Playa del Carmen, Mexico. We've already picked our excursions. For GC: Island Tour including Sting Ray City, Turtle Farm and Hell. For Mexico: Mayan Village and Jungle Park Exploration.
Over the weekend I watched a bunch of shows on the Travel Channel about cruising. One was a Caribbean cruise, which stopped at Grand Cayman, and that's what made me decide I wanted to go to Sting Ray City. Another show featured an Alaskan cruise, which I would love to do someday. That looks really awesome. It would be fun to go on a cruise with friends some time, too. I mean, I like my parents and all, but I don't want every trip to be with them.
Tonight's a Pride meeting. It's weird only having meetings every few weeks instead of every week like we were doing over the summer. It's harder to get motivated this way. The former volunteer coordinator sent me the list of last year's volunteers, but it's only names and postal addresses...no e-mail addresses. I know she must have them. I e-mailed her and asked to get those, too. I wouldn't have e-mailed anyone yet anyway, I'd like to be a little more confident that the date we have picked is really going to be the date. Next weekend I'll be attending the
POSE (Prides Of the SouthEast) conference in Columbia, SC. Well, I'll probably just be there for the day on Saturday for some workshops and networking lunch. Some of the workshops sound pretty interesting, such as "Finding Volunteers Without Bribing Them With Favors or Food!".
