I've been obsessed with the Cruise Critic message boards lately. I spend so much time on them I almost forget about LJ. Speaking of cruises, guess what! I'm going on another one. My mom had such a good time with me that we booked one for just her and me in less than three months! I love that it's so close, it's much easier for me to get excited ( Read more... )

Two of the shows were with Samantha Brown- one was "Samantha Brown's First Cruise," which was a Mediterranean cruise, and then the Caribbean cruise was with her, too. They are both on Royal Caribbean, as was the Alaska cruise, but she wasn't on that show. It didn't really have a host, just a narrator.

No, I don't get motion sickness. But I did see a lot of people with the Sea Bands and patches and that sort of thing.

And the cruise ships are so large, and they have stablizers, that you're not feeling constant motion. Sometimes you don't feel anything, other times you do. I like it.

who is your travel agent!? melindameow February 9 2007, 07:19:19 UTC
i just made a huge booking on the Carnival Pride for April. i am spending a weekend doing ship inspections of that and the Paradise in March.

i am in the beginning stages of planning my own cruise - i really want to do the Southern Caribbean in October.

If you don't have a travel agent that you work with, i could work on your bookings for you (it most likely would not cost you any extra money.) Yes, i live across the country but i've been working on bookings for people who live all over the place, so it's not new for me to do that.

Cruising is an awesome way to travel - by far my favorite.

Take care!

Melinda

The Pride is the one that just had problems and got back a day later. Is everything fixed now?

As far as I know, my mother just books the cruises directly through Carnival. She looks up the Past Guest specials, finds a good deal and gets it.

But if I ever do a non-parent/non-Carnival cruise, I'll keep you in mind! I would like to do a Southern or Eastern Caribbean one, since I'll have done two Western in a row.

I noticed you weren't around too much lately - you've really got that cruise bug huh? I'm jealous! My parents go once a year now and it always sounds like they have such a great time. They've been to 'hell' as well, they got a silly little shot glass that says, of course, "I went to HELL and all I got was this stupid shot glass", lol. One of these years, when I can save up the money, I hope to go . I just love the idea of being able to see all those tropical locations without having to worry about food/room because it's all taken care of on the boat!
